MOMA Acquires @ Symbol – There’s Great Design Right Under Our Noses

I can’t define art but I know it when I see it. Well, the MOMA has added a new wrinkle to this old adage with the “acquisition” of the @ symbol.

I love the acquisition. Yes, it seems a bit gimmicky but it has a certain amount of egalitarian wisdom to it. How cool it is that art can belong to no one and everyone at the same time. And while I like ampersand as much as the next person, @ deserves to be recognized for making the leap from the sixth century to an integral part of life in the Cyber Age.
